Hi Everyone,

This week I want to extend a huge Thank You to every individual that plays a part in making Record Store Day such a success. I especially want to call out the record stores- they really are the heart and soul of this event and in fact what we are celebrating. After the artist and labels and management and distributors have done their parts to come up with cool content for the day, then the real work begins. Countless hours are spent putting together the perfectly curated list of titles, and creative ways to pull off the weekend. There are the pressures of being on the front lines with the fans, as the number one goal is to make as many customer’s record dreams come true as possible. That is no easy feat, and yet it amazed me reading the recaps that this many years in we are still seeing “new best day ever stories”. This is one of those instances where the adage “it takes a village” really comes to mind.
