Hiss Golden Messenger Quietly Blowing It (Merge) Scott Register - ThinkIndie A&R I saw Hiss Golden Messenger for the first time at a local new music festival, Secret Stages (www.secretstages.net) back in 2012. Immediately I was taken by M.C. Taylor’s sound and songs. The Durham, NC, singer-songwriter has a simplicity to him that hides something much more complex. His songs make you think, make you wonder. M.C. stopped by my radio show the next morning and blew me away once more. Since then, I have followed his career and music closely and have loved watching him grow his artistry and his following. He says this new album is his most personal album to date, and it may be, but it appeals to me as much as any of his previous offerings and a perfect soundtrack to the now. — Hiss Golden Messenger
